The high school targeted by the attack is Lycée Marie-Louise Dissard, also known as 'Françoise', located in Towne feuille, Haute-Garonne. The entire teaching staff and students were evacuated around 7:45 after a group of about 30 masked individuals surrounded the building. The group intentionally set fire to the school office (student educational and life services) in the main hallway using improvised mortars. Firefighters intervened extensively but were themselves targeted by further launches of fireworks. No person was reported as a victim, but the building will remain closed for the rest of the day. [1]
Kamel Chibli, Vice-President of the Occitania region responsible for education, stated that he is deeply shocked by the deliberate attack on Lycée Marie-Louise Dissard, calling it an act of intimidation against school staff and a serious danger to the community.
