The defense technology company Baykar has demonstrated on the international stage a diversified portfolio that extends beyond unmanned aerial combat platforms. Recent achievements include the orbital launch of the fully indigenous FRG-100D4 satellite, as well as the successful completion of crucial live-fire tests for its combat aircraft, which include the Bayraktar TB2, AKINCI, and SUNGUR. [2]
The FRG-100D4 space system, the sixth test satellite developed by Fergani Space, has reached outer space. Weighing 160 kilograms, this ninth-generation satellite, designed entirely with domestic resources, is equipped with communications and navigation capabilities. After entering its designated orbit, FRG-100D4 began its official mission, marking an important step for Turkish technological sovereignty in the space domain. [2]
In the field of aeronautics, locally developed unmanned platforms demonstrated effectiveness during the mixed-exercise Ateş Serbest-2026. These exercises highlighted advanced capabilities, including autonomous swarm operations, target detection, precision strike, and network-centric mission management. [2]
The unmanned combat aircraft AKINCI, known as a UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle), successfully completed its first live-fire test with MGK munitions. The direct hit achieved paves the way for further validations within its testing program. At the same time, the Bayraktar TB2 and TB3 aircraft validated their compatibility with new weapons: [2]
During the maritime exercise Seawolf, Bayraktar TB3 drones launched from the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu successfully executed a test launch of sonobuoys using the Baykar SAS deck. The operation was conducted in collaboration with a maritime patrol aircraft, granting the UAV another critical capability in anti-submarine warfare. [2]
In a separate firing test, the SUNGUR system developed by Bayraktar scored a direct hit on a high-speed UAV target, confirming its ability to intercept agile targets. [2]
