LemFi, the financial platform designed for people building lives beyond borders, has launched its new global brand platform, alongside a completely redesigned app, marking the company’s most extensive product expansion in history. Over two million customers use LemFi to send money to more than 30 countries, with a monthly transaction volume exceeding $2 billion, and the company plans to add more destinations next year. The expanded platform, “Ambition has no passport,” includes savings and credit services in the UK, eSIMs in over 150 destinations, along with existing international payment services. [1]
People who relocate countries bring with them careers, qualifications, and savings histories, yet they find that almost none of this carries over across borders. Credit histories rarely survive such crossings. Approximately 304 million people currently live outside their country of birth, sending home around $905 billion annually. Many financial services remain designed around individual products or customers whose financial lives occur within a single country. LemFi is building its platform around this gap, expanding from the international transfers it was founded on into a broader suite of financial services designed for people whose lives span borders. [1]
Ridwan Olalere, co-founder and CEO of LemFi, stated: “We started LemFi because sending money home was broken. What we learned is that the harder problem starts after the transfer.” Their customers build careers and businesses in one country while supporting individuals in another, yet the financial system treats them as if they could only exist in one place at a time. This is the wrong answer for such ambitious people, so LemFi was redesigned to operate as they live. Ambition travels, and the infrastructure behind it should travel too. [1]
Transfers remain at the core of the platform, enabling users to send money to over 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and other regions from the same account that now saves, borrows, and connects. The instant LemFi Savings account, available in the United Kingdom, currently offers an enhanced rate of 5% AER for the first six months after account opening, reverting thereafter to 3.04% AER (tracker), following the Bank of England base rate. Accounts can be opened with just £1, with no withdrawal penalties. Deposits are held by ClearBank and protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £120,000 per eligible depositor. [1]
LemFi is also introducing a credit history that travels in the UK: a revolving line of credit, subjectively available based on eligibility, issued by LemFi Credit through Pillar, the FCA-regulated credit provider acquired by LemFi in 2025. It is available as a virtual card via Apple Pay and Google Pay and can be used for both spending and sending money. Eligible customers can view their Equifax credit score for free within the app. [1]
eSIM services are available in over 150 destinations in every market. Users can purchase mobile data before arrival without swapping SIM cards or facing roaming bills. [1]
The app has been rebuilt from the ground up to support multiple products across multiple countries within a single account, rather than simply layering services onto a transfers-only app. The reconfiguration places LemFi products at the center of the experience, making them easier to discover and creating an architecture that allows new services to be added as the company expands. LemFi has also introduced its new global brand platform, “Ambition has no passport,” reflecting its focus on customers building careers, businesses, families, and financial lives across borders. [1]
The new identity extends across the LemFi product interface, website, marketing, and social channels, to be implemented across global markets. Isabel Ron-Pedrique, VP of Design and Brand at LemFi, stated: “LemFi began as a way to send money home. Our customers have turned it into a way to build a life across borders. They are not defined by where they left behind but by what they are building. ‘Ambition has no passport’ is not a phrase slapped onto a product. It is the idea from which the entire system is built, from the morning you open the app to the screen you see at work. We built this brand to keep pace with them.” Savings and credit are available in the UK at launch, with other markets to follow. [1]
