Reporters Without Borders (RSF) launched the 83rd album in its '100 Photographs for Press Freedom' series, dedicated to the famous French photographer Robert Doisneau. The album, available at newspaper kiosks, Fnac stores, and on the RSF website for €12.50, features 100 emblematic photographs by the artist and aims to fund the organization's activities defending freedom of expression globally. [1]
The publication, comprising 144 pages, is described by RSF as an 'engaged but amusing guide' to seeing the world differently. The album’s foreword includes tributes from personalities such as journalist David Castello-Lopes, writer Marie Depleschin, author Clémentine Derouidille, and director Patrice Leconte, who praised Doisneau’s 'melancholy, alert, and pleasing eye.' Among the included photographs are 'Little Michel’s Dream' (1936), 'The Indignant Lady' (1948), and 'National Highway 98 near Sainte-Maxime' (1959). [1]
This initiative continues a series initiated by RSF, previously dedicated to photographers William Klein, Dominique Issermann, JR, Magnum Photos, Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Martin Parr, and various themes such as football, nature, and Studio Ghibli. Album sales directly support the mission of this non-profit organization, founded in 1985 in Montpellier by four journalists, which monitors press freedom conditions in 180 countries. [1]
