The takeover bid for Coca-Cola HBC's business in Russia was officially submitted to the Russian government in October 2026; according to sources cited on November 5 by Kommersant, it has already received the support of certain deputy prime ministers responsible for relevant sectors. Representatives of the Multon Partners group, which manages the business in question, stated that the company is operated by a local team and that they have not received any notification regarding potential status changes. Multon is one of the largest soft drink producers in Russia, owned by Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC). After Coca-Cola scaled back its operations in Russia in 2022, CCHBC focused on local brands such as Dobry, Rich, Moya Semya, Pulpy, Burn, and BonAqua. Following reports by Russian media about Bochkari’s proposal, CCHBC shares, listed on the London Stock Exchange, fell by nearly 19%, reaching £54 per share. Russian authorities had previously transferred several Western brands’ assets under temporary administration, including Auchan, Nestlé, Metro Cash & Carry, the former Leroy Merlin chain, and Japan Tobacco International.
